Prabhu Deva has been drawing finest graphs by choosing different scripts in his each film. Follwing a romantic film ‘Engeyum Kadhal’, Prabhu Deva has now made ‘Vedi’ starring Vishal and Sameera Reddy in lead roles, which is a remake of Telugu film ‘Shouryam’. The album has 5 tracks based on different genres of music rendered by Vijay Anthony.

1.Enna Aachu
Vocals: Vijay Yesudas, Janaki Iyer
Lyrics: Thamarai

Lyricist Thamarai is always known for penning beautiful romantic duets. The songs ‘Manipaaya’ from ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya’, ‘Maalai Mangum Neram’ in Rowthiram and many more songs from ‘Vettaiayaadu Vilayaadu’, ‘Kaakha Kaakha’ have been the best illustrations. This song has her perfect touch and Vijay Anthony has rendered the music with best composition. It will surely get ennobled as one of the best tunes from Vijay Anthony. Vijay Yesudas as usual does a good job while Janaki Iyer makes us nod to her mellisonant voice.

2.Ichu Ichu
Vocals: Vijay Anthony, Sangeetha Rajeshwaran
Lyrics: Vaali

When you have such a combination of Vijay Anthony as a singer and music director with lyric writer Vaali, there is no need for any guesses. It’s gonna be a typical enjoyable Kuthu number. Sangeetha Rajeshwaran has already picked everyone’s attention with her voice Vijay Anthony’s ‘Velayudham’. Vijay Anthony’s voice is so raw and it lacks the spirit that is usually present in his previous songs.

3.Ippadi Mazhai
Vocals: Karthik, Saindhavi
Lyrics: Na. Muthukumar

The song is like a slow poison and as you keep it hearing, the interest towards the song gradually blossoms. The sound mixing has been done with an excellent panache and Vijay Anthony does a good choice over the singers.

4.Bombay Ponnu
Vocals: Mamtha Sharma, MLR Karthikeyan, Senthil Das
Lyrics: Vivega

The item song is done in a new style and it has a mix of Bhangra and Kuthu beat. Again, Vijay Anthony makes an impressive performance choosing the singers like Mamtha Sharma, MLR Karthikeyan and Senthil Das. Vivega is illustrious for his works for such songs and has done what is required for the song.

5.Kadhalikka
Vocals: Emcee Jazz, Naresh Iyer, Andrea Jeremiah, Rap Vocals: Sharmila
Lyrics: Kabilan

The song is sure to reach greater places and will make a superb mark. Though the song has similar techno beats as in few songs of this album, Vijay Anthony lets it happen differently. The singers in fact are yet another highlighting factor. Wow! It’s a scintillating effort from Emcee Jazz (he comes out of his usual style and renders the song in a different style), Naresh Iyer and Andrea Jeremiah. The rap vocals by Sharmila embellish the song to a greater extent.

On the whole, ‘Vedi’ marks the commednable effort by Vijay Anthony for almost all the songs are impressive. Go own a copy and hear the song in original audio CDs for the mastering has been done excellently.

Verdict: Yet another best work from Vijay Anthony…
