‘Vada Chennai is not a period movie’ – Vetrimaaran

                             Things are getting faster with Vetrimaaran’s next project. Following the grand success of ‘Mankatha’, producer Dayanidhi Azhagiri of Cloud Nine Movies is all set to kick-start his next project titled ‘Vada Chennai’. The script works by Vetrimaaran and casting of actors took a very long time and will extend till end of February.

The official confirmation was made this morning and its Silambarasan playing the lead role. The female lead character is yet to be confirmed and Andrea Jeremiah will perform an important character. Telugu actor Raana Daggubati takes on an important character. G.V. Prakash will score music and Velraj on cinematography. National award winner Kishore T.E. of ‘Aadukalam’ fame is handling editing.

Says Vetrimaaran: “It’s not a period movie, but about the happenings of North Chennai.”

Producer Dayanidhi Azhagiri about the film says, “The film will go on floors from March 2012 and preproduction works are on full swing.”
