Oru Kal Oru Kannadi Music Review
Banner: Red Giant Movies
Production: Udhayanidhi Stalin
Direction: Rajesh
Star-casts: Udhayanidhi Stalin, Hansika Motwani and Santhanam
Music: Harris Jayaraj
Siva Manasula Sakthi and Boss Engira Baskaran have been the IDs of director Rajesh and now he is back with yet another comedy entertainer as the trailers give you such impression. However, music director Harris Jayaraj comes back with his usual style of copycatting his own compositions as it happened with his previous albums.
1. Adada Oru
Vocals: Karthik
Karthik has been the favorite of Harris Jayaraj and he makes it a point of carrying his voice at least for a track. The song is peppy with good usage of distorted guitars. During many parts, he has copycatted the song from his yesteryear album Kovil. Karthik does justice to his part.
2. Akila Akila
Vocals: Aalaap Raju, Chinmayee, Sharmila
Again, Harris Jayaraj has recreated his own composition and few lines from other track as well. The song is just okay and it might take few more time for the song to brew up. In parts, the song blatantly reminiscences of Vizhi Moodi Yosithal and Hasili Fisiliye Rasamani. The only convincing factor is that the song has some great singers.
3. Azhage Azhage
Vocals: Mukesh, Sri Madhumitha
The song doesn’t gain our interests in any places and it’s obvious that Harris has pushed up his work without any efforts. Mukesh and Sri Madhumitha don’t suit the song with their rendition. It looks like the song has been shot in Jordan.
4. Kadhal Oru Butterfly
Vocals: Aalaap Raju, Hemachandran, Sunitha Saarathy
Cherry-pick of the album and it has been generating huge waves from the time it was aired along with the film’s teasers. Harris Jayaraj has exerted scrutinizing efforts over giving the best of his adeptness. The song is sure to hold a prominent position in the charts.
5. Venaam Machaan
Vocals: Naresh Iyer, Velmurugan
The song will get into the masses within short span of time. It’s a local flavor and will surely arrest your senses. Doubtlessly, a song to cheer up and earlier it was ‘Ava Enna’ from Vaaranam Aayiram.
With couple of songs based on Kuthu and mellisonant style each, Harris Jayaraj could have delivered the other songs with his panache.
Verdict: Buy it only for Kadhal Oru Butterfly and Venaam Machaan.
