En Frienda Pola
Singers: Krish, Suchit Suresan
Lyrics: Viveka
The album with this track that has beats pumping on percussions and slightly reminds of ‘Chennai Super Kings’ theme Music. The music is crooned by Krish and Suchit Suresan. It sounds like a title song and is written by Viveka. The song remains so close to our hearts as it reminds of our close and loved ones.
Heartile Battery
Singers: Hemachandran, Mukesh
Lyrics: Na. Muthukumar
The song is nothing but the Tamil version of ‘All is well’ from ‘3 Idiots’. Apart from using the words ‘All is Well’, music director has made a fresh composing that attracts us easily. It’s a fast beat peppy song with catchy lyrics. Harris has got the apt singers to render the song and the lyrical lines by Na. Muthukumar are good. But it’s the choreography that’s gonna make it more stunning.
Asku Laska
Singers: Vijay Prakash, Chinmayi, Suvi (Rap)
Lyrics: Madhan Karky
Madhan Karky has tried new experiments in the past penning songs in different languages that include a Portugal track in ‘Nootrenbadhu’ and a Chinese song in ‘7 Aam Arivu’. Now he comes up adding words from different languages for this song. The composition and style of rendition by Vijay Prakash, Chinmayi and the picturing by Shankar makes it an enjoyable song to relish upon. Suvi’s rap heard during the interludes is a special attraction.
Endhan Kan Munne
Singers: Aaalap Raju
Lyrics: Madhan Karky
It’s a bit song that doesn’t last more than couple of minutes. But Harris Jayaraj has taken scrutinizing efforts to bring about the song with excellence. We hear the fill-in works done perfectly and Aalaap Raju, man behind the success of ‘Ennamo Yedho’ and ‘Engeyum Kadhal’ makes it more stunning with his vocalisms.
Irukaana Illaiyaana
Singers: Vijay Prakash, Javed Ali, Sunidhi Chauhan
Lyrics: Pa. Vijay
It’s a fast beat number that will have the best dancer of South Ilayathalapathy Vijay and hot and slim-hip Ileana shaking legs together. The grand sets and the singers Vijay Prakash, Javed Ali and Sunidhi Chauhan emblazon the song to a greater magnitude. The song is written by Pa. Vijay and his taste for glamorous appeal of a girl gets him best term to write the song.
Nalla Nanban
Singers: Ramakrishnan, Murthy
Lyrics: Na. Muthukumar
This is the best one out of all the tracks in this album. Both Ramakrishnan and Moorthy make the song sound so fabulous and it’s a song close to everyone’s heart. Harris Jayaraj has used so many instruments that include Piano, Violin, Flute, Sitar and mild percussions. Na. Muthukumar has done a neat work over getting the lyrics with panache.
On the whole, ‘Nanban’ has good tracks and overall it’s a commendable work from Harris Jayaraj. His ability to bring in the best singers and choose the best instruments makes every song special. Director Shankar has managed to get the best from Harris Jayaraj and his innovative picturing with grand visuals will add more intensity to the songs.
Verdict: Finest songs from Harris Jayaraj.
