The much awaited ‘Naan Ee’ has arrived. It has created huge expectations by the virtue of its posters, trailers and above all the Graphics and Visual Effects created to create a tiny housefly’s revenge. Finally let us see if it has reached those expectations.
Naan Ee is about rebirth and revenge of Actor Nani as a house fly. Naan Ee starts with voice over of a father trying to put his child to sleep narrating a fairy tale of a superhero Ee [house fly].
Nani, who plays the role of Naani is a simple boy next door who is head over heels in love with Samantha ( who plays the role of Bindhu). He tries to woo her and express his love for her. Their love story like all, have a villain in the form of Sudheep, a businessman, who gets impressed with Samantha on their first meeting that he desperately tries to win her love. Samantha who seeks donation for her trust, gets help from Sudheep and from then on their relationship develops.
To impress Samantha, Sudheep takes her out on a date, when Nani follows them. Samantha gets down from the car after noticing Nani. Sudheep realizes about their love affair and decides to kill Nani. Nani who gets killed, takes a rebirth in the form of a fly. Though he has the body of a fly, his brain functions like a human. He slowly comes to know about his past when he meets Sudheep and decides to take revenge for his death. What happens next, does he take revenge and save Samantha from the clutches of Sudheep, forms the climax with a twist.
The special effects used in certain scenes has come out really well. The standard of the CG is good. To mention a few are where Nani takes birth as a fly and then learns to fly, the way he tries to communicate to his love Samantha as a fly and how he infuses terror in Sudheep by showcasing a revenge message and the irritation that he tries to create for Sudheep and the many encounters. In fact these scenes is also highlighted with the good background music score that has enhanced the VFX filled visuals. Sudheep’s acting is definitely worth mentioning, when he showcases varied emotions of love, anger, his villainous side and even fear.
Senthil Kumar, who has worked in Rajamouli’s Magadheera, Yamadonga is the director of Photography. Special Effects has been done at India, Poland, Russia and USA. The film unit has used a Scorpion crane for the first time in South Indian films. It is said that the film’s budget is Rs 40 crores and nearly 50% of its has been used for the visual effects. The Tamil version Crazy Mohan who penned the dialogues, which is directed by SS Rajamouli.
In Tamil Crazy mohan have done a very good job impressing through his dialogues with a timing sense which makes the audience to think and laugh after the scene passes. Kudos for Santhanam for his perfect matching scene with Samantha which can only be explained and enjoyed by watching the film. Throughout the film Actor Sudheep gained lots of appreciation through his marvelous and must be said as a perfect acting. Sudheep Lived in his role and fulfilled the expectations more than a lot for the story.
Director Rajamouli after the tremendous success of his previous blockbuster movie Magadheera comes with an idea from his assistant which is very much tough to win in both kollywood and tollywood which has huge animation flick but the truth is he succeeded a lot and Naan Ee will be a trendsetting for Indian movies to go on bravely for Animation flicks in the future. Overall, Naan Ee was widely appreciated and applauded for the efforts the crew took for the Blockbuster entertainment.
