Actor Kamal Haasan is a busy man these days. It is being reported that he has been shuttling between LA and Chennai for the last few weeks.Apparently, he is doing post-production work of his ‘Viswaroopam’ in US, and it is shaping out well.

Now with his ‘Viswaroopam’ readying for release the actor, director and producer is off to the US to look into the final sound mixing of the film, the little birdie said. It must be said that the digital posters of ‘Viswaroopam’ have already created a buzz and looks like Kamal is going all out to ensure fans get what they want.

Actor Ajith Kumar recently caught up with director Selva who had introduced him in ‘Amaravathi’ some two decades or so ago in Kollywood. Meanwhile, buzz is that the star expressed a desire to work with his first director again. Sources also have it that Ajith is apparently interested in doing a remake of K Balachander’s famous film, Ninaithale Innikum featuring Rajini, Kamal Haasan, and Jaya Prada.

Selva who did ‘Naan Avan Illai’, a successful remake has the experience and skill to do justice to the classic, feels Ajith.It is also said Ajith himself is keen to reprise Kamal’s role in the film. It has to be seen who will be chosen or keen to do Rajini’s role in the film.

Ajith’s as yet untitled project directed by Vishnuvardhan has added another star to the cast. It will be Ashwin, who played a cop in Ajith’s previous movie ‘Mankatha.’ It is said that he will be seen in a significant role in the movie. Apparently, Ashwin’s inclusion in the movie is based on Ajith’s recommendation, sources say.

It must be noted that Vishnuvardhan has managed to rope in a formidable star cast including Arya, Nayan and Tapsee for the movie. The music will be handled by Yuvan Shankar Raja and produced by AM Ratnam and Raghuram.

Actor Jayam Ravi is said to be excited about working in a film with Samuthirakani in which he plays a dual role. Buzz is that one of the characters is a middle- aged Casanova-like role which was made famous by Superstsar Rajinikanth in ‘Netrikkan’.

Sources said that Jayam Ravi was working hard on his look as well as body language and dialect for this character. It is said that the young actor has decided to request the help of Kamal Haasan to do the role. Ravi is said to be planning to meet up with him when he returns and seek his help regarding the make-up.

Tamil films seems to be the toast of international world. Several films in the recent past, made it to international film festivals. The likes of Aranya Kandam and Deiiva Thirumagal won awards and acclaims.

The latest buzz is that four Tamil films have been selected for the German Film Festival, 2012. Balaji Sakthivel’s Vazhakku Enn 18/9, Sargunam’s Vaagai Sooda Vaa, Santha Kumar’s Mounaguru starring Arulnidhi and K S Thangasamy’s Raattinam, which is releasing today have made it big.

Vazhakku En featured all newcomers and was produced by Lingusamy. Vaagai Sooda Vaa won many awards including the National award for best Tamil film. Mounaguru was a slick entertainer and it revived Arulnidhi’s career. Rattinam was a romantic special with newcomers in the cast.

Actor Prasanna and actress Sneha are hogging the limelight after their wedding and all eyes are the couple’s next move. Sources said the twosome made use of the time to visit temples, especially the ‘kuladeivam’ temple of Prasanna in Karur. Meanwhile, it is said that the celebrity couple are keen to move into their new house as soon as it is done up. Buzz is that the wedding is set to be aired on a private television channel on 20 May.

Sunaina in an interview to a Tamil newspaper said : “I don’t care that I’m doing only the second female lead in Vishal’s Samar, because it is the most important role in the film. My character makes the film move forward and it is a very crucial role.”

The actress says today she is careful about her roles and prefers do films, where she has a meaty role. Sunaina cannot stop talking about her role in Seenu Ramasamy’s Neer Paravai.

Added Sunaina : “ Neer Paravai, will be a landmark film for me. I play a very different character with different shades. It is not that I want to do only realistic films, I’m open to doing glam roles too.”

Actor Sarath Kumar has denied rumors that he will be playing a role with negative shades. The actor who is currently shooting for Rajnikanth starrer Kochadaiyaan and Vidiyal alongside Nayanthara, says that his hands are full and that he is not doing any movie with Vijay.

Reports said Vijay’s Thuppaki will feature Sarath Kumar in a prominent role in the film. In a statement here, Sarath Kumar has dnied them as rumours. He says, ‘ I have my handsfull and no way I am part of the movie.’ Sarath Kumar is a bust bee in Malayalam post Pazhassi Raja and is doing handfull of movies there.

Malayalam actress Ramya Nambeesan, who has acted in a few films in Kollywood, is said to be gearing up for the shoot of her next outing ‘Pizza’.The mystery-thriller, directed by debutant Karthik, will have her romancing actor Vijay Sethupathy of ‘Thenmerku Paruvakaatru’-fame.The movie is not titled ‘Pizza’ not because the makers wanted a fancy or offbeat name. It has got a lot of significance. The title will suit the storyline, Ramya says.

Says the actress: ‘Though several offers came my way in Tamil, I was busy with a handful of movies in Malayalam’. Says the director: ‘I passed out of a film academy in Bengaluru. This is my maiden outing. Vijay Sethupathy plays a pizza delivery boy in the movie. The movie has come good’.

It is no longer news that Pooja pulled out of Bala’s ‘Paradesi’, in which she had a crucial role. It is said that she exited the movie because she couldn’t adjust the dates. While Pooja’s part was supposed to be shot in about 20 days last month, owing to the industry strike, the shoots did not happen.

Meanwhile, now that the strike is settled and as work is resuming, Pooja has another commitment that requires her to be in Australia. Sources said Pooja could not spare a few days since her Australia trip was planned months before and could not be postponed.

After the likes of Ramya Krishna, Anushka and Roja, it’s now the turn of Meena to play Goddess. The actress on a comeback mode after her marriage with an industrialist from Canada, will be playing the Almighty in a movie titled Sri Vasavi Vaibhavam in Telugu.

Says Meena, ‘Such roles rarely come by, so I took it up despite being married’. Interestingly the movie is produced by Doraiswamy Raju, who made films like Annamayya before. The film would be released in June. Plans are on to release the same in Tamil too.

Actress Haripriya of Muran fame has denied reports that Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sleuths raided her residence on Wednesday. She said that she is not in relationship with involved with B S Vijayendra, son of former Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa as reported by a section of media. I am surprised how such news was scrolled on news channels. There was no CBI raid at my house. I am surprised about the pattern of false news being telecast on many platforms just at the time when my film is ready to release,’ Haripriya said.

Says Dhananjayan: “The results have been tremendous and audiences are overwhelmed with unrestrained joy watching this cool entertainer. The screens will be increased from tomorrow (May 18) with accordance to the requests of theatre owners. We are planning up for Kalakalappu-2 with the same cast and crew.”
