Following the huge success of ‘Vennila Kabadi Kulu’ and ‘Naan Mahaan Alla’, filmmaker Susindran is all set for the release of his next movie ‘Azhagar Saamiyin Kudhirai’. Having worked with Selvaganesh for ‘VKK’ and Yuvan Shankar Raja for ‘Naan Mahaan Alla’, Susindran joins hands with Isaignani Ilayaraja for the first time.

‘Azhagar Saamiyin Kudhirai’ has 3 tracks that comprises of a track by Ilayaraja while a duet performed by Karthik and Shreya Ghosal and a festival song that has ensemble singer crooning the number with the trademark of Ilayaraja’s touch.

1. Adiye Ivale …

The song is based on the villagers’ excitements over the oncoming festival of ‘Azhagar Saamy’. It has a narrative style of the importance and attributes of the festival. The song is rendered by nearly a dozen of singers. Maybe the song will have more soul with the visuals. Sneghan seems to have done a detailed research over the festival.

2. Kuthikkira Kuthikkira…
Singers: Dr. Ilayaraaja
Lyrics: J. Francis Kiruba

A remarkable and quite a different strike from Maestro Ilayaraja… Never expected such an unusual stroke from the legend that is sure to make huge waves with the visuals… The song is about a man’s shower of praises upon his horse. The lyrical lines by J. Francis Kiruba that has a mix of the protagonist praising his horse and his sweetheart is worth praising. Isaignani Ilayaraja’s crooning style is the greatest highlight of this song.

3. Poovakkelu…
Singers: Karthik & Shreya Goshal
Lyrics: Yugabharathy

The song is quite different from other couple of tracks in the album. This is a pure melodious duet rendered by Karthik and Shreya Ghosal. Both the singers have done a fabulous job. These singers have already spelled a wonderful show with Ilayaraja and this one isn’t an exception.

On the whole, ‘Azhagar Saamiyin Kuthirai’ has an usual styled music from Isaignani Ilayaraja. We will have to wait and see whether they have a good output with visuals and grab the attention of present age audiences. As of now, it’s a pleasant treat for his fans.
